Community Wildfire Protection Plan
The Mariposa County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) is the County’s primary planning document for preparing for wildfires. The CWPP provides strategies to minimize negative wildfire impacts to people and property, manage forest health, restore ecological balance, and increase response and suppression capabilities.
CWPP Plan Update 2020
The current CWPP is undergoing an update. This is an important activity funded by a grant through CALFIRE. Mariposa County, the Mariposa County Firesafe Council, Mariposa Resource Conservation District and stakeholders are working together with Wildfire Planning International LLC, Wildland Professional Solutions, Inc., and Anchor Point Group LLC on the CWPP update, which includes a new countywide wildfire risk assessment.
