Adult Protective Services (APS)

Adult Protective Services Responsibilities

Mariposa County Adult Protective Services (APS) is dedicated to promoting the health, safety, and dignity of adults aged 65 and older, and disabled adults aged 18 and older. The goal of the APS Program is to prevent and remedy the abuse and/or neglect of those unable to protect their own interests.

APS provides a 24-hour, 7-day a week emergency response service to receive reports of abuse. APS evaluates all allegations of abuse and neglect to determine an appropriate and timely response.

APS is designed to link clients with needed services provided by other public, private, and community based organizations. APS will advocate for clients to reduce the risk of abuse and the fear of abuse.
