Wells and Septic Systems

 

Registered Environmental Health Specialists assist in protecting the health and safety of the community by ensuring well and septic health standards are being met.

 

Functions:

  • Educate people to prevent health and safety problems regarding  wells and septic systems, and to act as a resource to treat existing health and safety issues.

 

  • Inspect newly installed wells and septic systems to ensure proper health and safety standards are met.

 

  • Investigate failing wells and septic systems.  Environmental Health Specialist staff assist individuals by discussing what available resources for proposed plans are in the community.

 

  • Review proposed plans to construct, install or adjust existing wells and septic systems to meet health and safety standards.

 

  • Initiate and monitor corrective actions to ensure health and safety at regulated facilities.
