Enhance Science Lessons with Worm Composters
What does an earthworm look like? How does it move? What does it eat? Do worm castings really help plants grow?

Let your students find out firsthand through observation and simple experiments what makes earthworms so wonderful and the life sciences so intriguing. Worm composters teeming with hundreds of red wiggler worms provide scores of exciting hands-on learning opportunities for all grade levels. Composters and accompanying curriculum materials are available for short-term loan (up to one month) to educators in Mariposa County. The bins are small, compact and easy to maintain. Instructions are included.

To reserve a bin, contact Karen Dusek, Recycling Coordinator, 209-966-5165 (Mon., Tues., Fri.) or e-mail.
