Mental Health Board

  • Reviews and evaluates County's mental health needs, services, facilities and special problems
  • Advises Board of Supervisors and Mental Health Director as to any aspect of the local mental health program
  • Reviews and approves procedures used to ensure citizen and professional involvement at all states of the planning process
  • Submits annual report on the needs of the mental health system to the Board of Supervisors
  • Reviews and comments on the County's performance outcome data and communicates the findings to the California Mental Health Planning Council
  • Reviews and recommends applicants for the appointment of a local Director of Mental Health Services
  • In compliance with Res. 88-178 is designated as the County's Task Force on Self-Esteem

Mission and Bylaws
Our mission is to ensure high quality mental health services for all individuals in our community by evaluating the community's mental health services and needs, advocating for persons with mental health needs, advising the Board of Supervisors and Mental Health Director on related issues and educating the public on the importance of mental health as a part of community health.
