Drug Task Force
The Probation Officer assigned to the Drug Task Force Unit works with the District Attorney’s Office and other law enforcement agencies to assist in identifying those individuals who meet the criteria as participants in criminal drug related activities. The Probation Officer assists other law enforcement agencies in narcotic investigations, serving of search warrants related to narcotic offenses and participates in the investigation into individuals who are engaged in growing and distributing marijuana.
In addition, the Drug Task Force Officer supervises a caseload of adult offenders who have been convicted of misdemeanor or felony drug offenses who are not eligible for diversion programs. The Probation Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with court orders including monitoring the offender's progress in substance abuse treatment or other rehabilitative programs, referring the offender to job assistance services and conducting random visits at the offender's home or place of employment. The Probation Officer administers drug tests and files Violations of Probations when appropriate.
