| MARIPOSA COUNTY GENERAL PLAN
The new countywide General Plan, recommended by the Planning Commission in November, was adopted by the Board of Supervisors in December, 2006. The General Plan is currently in effect and has replaced the 1981 General Plan.
Zoning of property has not changed. Zoning in Mariposa County is generally consistent with the General Plan land use classifications.
The General Plan serves as the comprehensive policy guide for future public and private land use decisions and activities through out Mariposa County. The General Plan consists of four documents:
Volume I: General Plan (contains goals and policies within 16 elements (chapters) & includes a glossary of terms)
Volume II: Diagrams (the Countywide Land Use Diagram and 17 designated Planning Areas, including future Planning Study Areas)
Volume III : Technical Background Report (provides supporting technical and environmental data)
Volume IV: Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR, contains the environmental program analysis, public comments, responses to comments, and the final mitigation measures).
Copies of the complete General Plan are available at the Mariposa County Planning Department and are also available for review at the following locations:
