Behavioral Health Board

Purpose

  • Reviews and evaluates County's mental health needs, services, facilities and special problems
  • Advises Board of Supervisors and Mental Health Director as to any aspect of the local mental health program
  • Reviews and approves procedures used to ensure citizen and professional involvement at all states of the planning process
  • Submits annual report on the needs of the mental health system to the Board of Supervisors
  • Reviews and comments on the County's performance outcome data and communicates the findings to the California Mental Health Planning Council
  • Reviews and recommends applicants for the appointment of a local Director of Mental Health Services
  • In compliance with Res. 88 to 178 is designated as the County's Task Force on Self-Esteem
