Mariposa County is seeking qualifications from qualified planning and design teams to advance the design and permitting of the Mariposa Creek Parkway Phase III Trailhead + Destination Park. This project was identified as a priority in the Mariposa Creek Parkway Master Plan, and aligns with several current and ongoing projects in this segment of the Mariposa Creek corridor, including construction of the Phase III segment of the Parkway (funded by a grant from the Caltrans Active Transportation Program) and the riparian restoration of Phases II and III of Mariposa Creek (funded by a grant from the Wildlife Conservation Board).
The project will use extensive stakeholder engagement and community outreach to revisit and confirm the outcomes of the master plan as they pertain to this specific site. Then, based on that dialogue, develop 20% design drawings for the Phase III Trailhead and Destination Park to advance the implementation of this priority project. The consultant will also develop a detailed cost estimate based on the 20% design, and use the design as the basis for securing the permits needed to implement the project when funding is available at a later time.
This project is funded through a grant from the Economic Development Administration’s American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which is a federal grant.
